Artelia signs a partnership with Grenoble INP - Ense³, an engineering school that specialises in energy, water and the environment

4 July 2018 - Via the “Fondation Partenariale Grenoble INP” foundation, Artelia has established a three-year partnership with Grenoble INP - Ense³, thereby reaffirming its longstanding commitment to the school and higher education on a whole. Students studying for degrees in the fields of energy, water and the environment and the international multidisciplinary engineering group will benefit from a wide range of common projects over the three-year period. This partnership is intended to provide a real gateway between teaching, research and the professional world.
A socially responsible company, Artelia confirms its commitment to Grenoble INP
Artelia considers diversity and cooperation between the professional world and the world of teaching and research to be a key performance driver. In this respect, the Group collaborates at local level with engineering schools such as Grenoble INP - Ense3, but also with many laboratories and research centres in the Auvergne - Rhône-Alpes region. With 900 employees in the region, of whom 500 are based in Grenoble and involved mostly in international projects, Artelia contributes significantly to regional economic development. The Group has also launched an ambitious development project in Echirolles (Grenoble urban area), comprising the construction of a new adaptable and versatile innovation centre and the renovation of its head office.
Longstanding scientific collaboration with Grenoble INP - Ense³
The courses provided at this engineering school develop the skills required for a wide variety of trades practiced in the Artelia Group’s business lines. Grenoble INP - Ense³ was born from the merger of two schools: ENSHMG (mechanical and hydraulic engineering) and ENSIEG (energy and data processing); it is without a doubt the engineering school that has the longest history of scientific collaboration with Artelia in the region, and more than 120 Group managers and executives obtained their degrees there. Many links already exist between our engineering group and Grenoble INP - Ense³ in the form of lectureships and collaborative projects with its partner research laboratories.
A reinforced partnership between the school, research and the company
Via the “Fondation Partenariale Grenoble INP” foundation, Artelia is now ramping up this connection by sponsoring the next year group at Grenoble INP - Ense³ over a three-year period. In this respect, it will accompany more than 300 engineering students in their journey towards their future profession.
This sponsorship programme was drawn up by the signatory partners and consists of a long-term joint commitment based on five key pillars:
- a year group accompanied over their three-year course,
- the company represented by one person,
- a sponsorship programme underpinned by the common values of Artelia and Grenoble INP - Ense³,
- actions promoting diversity,
- an international dimension.
On a day-to-day basis, exchanges between Artelia and Grenoble - Ense³ students will focus on engineering projects and innovation challenges proposed by the company. Artelia’s engineers will share their experience and developments and involve engineering students in R&D and innovation actions taking place within the Group’s various business lines. As in the past, the Group intends to take on many interns and graduates.
The “Fondation Partenariale Grenoble INP” foundation, promoting social responsibility, excellence and international influence of Grenoble INP
In the context of the partnership signed with Grenoble INP - Ense³ via the Fondation Grenoble INP foundation, Artelia is reasserting its will to promote equal opportunities and combat all forms of discrimination. Collaborative actions to build social integration or promote diversity will be studied by the partners based on their common concerns.
A first major event: Artelia’s Sponsors Day on 2 October 2018
The major event for the start of the 2018-2019 academic year will be the Sponsors Day, which will take place on 2 October at the Grenoble INP - Ense³ campus: nearly 1000 students from the different year-groups will have the opportunity to meet about forty experts from the Artelia Group in the context of a “marketplace”-style event, during which they will be able to discuss the Group’s projects and business lines in the fields of construction, infrastructure, industry, water, energy and the environment.
The stage is set for this day that will mark the launch of the partnership and be followed by many other initiatives in the coming months.

About “Fondation Partenariale Grenoble INP”:
The Fondation Partenariale Grenoble INP foundation was created in 2010 in the form of sponsorship actions to enhance the standing of Grenoble INP, reinforce the links between Grenoble INP and local companies, contribute to the advancement of research and technology, promote academic, scientific and industrial innovation, and accompany Grenoble INP students. Its actions are designed for the mutual benefit all the contributing parties and aligned with the Foundation’s three strategic pillars: social responsibility, technical excellence and international influence.
About Grenoble INP - Ense³:
Energy, water and the environment are the major social issues of today and for the future.
Faced with the challenges related to the energy transition and sustainable development, the ambition of Ense3 is to train engineers and doctors to develop new modes of energy production, transport and storage, invent the housing and transport solutions of tomorrow, and ensure as many people as possible have access to a reliable water supply, in terms of both quantity and quality.
Ense3 has moved into a building that reflects its ambition: GreEn-ER, the new world-class centre for innovation on energy and natural resource management. Located at the heart of the “GIANT” innovation campus, GreEn-ER accommodates 1500 students and aims to reinforce the components of Grenoble’s DNA: research, training and industry.
