Context & Issues
The project is part of a general scheme to develop the Tana and Beles areas. The main aim is to evaluate groundwater resources in the Lake Tana and River Beles catchment areas (i.e. around 28,500 km²) in order to improve access to drinking water for local people and to develop irrigation in the sector.
