The purpose of the project is to promote sustainable low-emission growth, to decrease the effects of climate change, and to reduce the impacts on the environment of infrastructure investments in Indonesia. To this end, AFD intends to help strengthen the capacities of PT-SMI through the present Technical Assistance Programme (TAP).
The main aim of the technical assistance is to support the two facilities (Credit lines) and to build up PT-SMI’s capacity to originate, finance and monitor more Renewable Energy (RE) and Energy Efficiency (EE) projects. The three specific TAP objectives are:
- Objective 1: Assist PT-SMI in upgrading its environmental and social risk management practices.
- Objective 2: Help PT-SMI improve its skills in appraising and assessing RE, EE and Climate Change (CC) projects, in terms of technical, environmental and financial impact.
- Objective 3: Promote RE and EE investments in Indonesia and, in so-doing, develop PT-SMI’s pipeline of projects.
