Context & Issues
Neoen, through its subsidiary Capella Solar, responded to the tender issued by Delsur S.A. de C.V. concerning the construction of a solar PV power plant (capacity up to 100MW) on a build, own and operate basis, and proposed 2 PV projects of 50MW located within the same perimeter and adjacent to one another. In January 2017, Capella Solar was officially awarded those 2 projects.
The electricity produced will be sold to the 7 distribution companies active in El Salvador through a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement (“PPA”) and injected into the grid at a 115kV Substation belonging to ETESAL.
The solar panels shall be mounted on single-axis trackers.
