Tourism, leisure and cultural facilities
As the world’s leading tourist destination, France has long developed its cities and regions through unrivalled know-how in the fields of tourism, leisure and cultural facilities. These essential drivers of economic growth are the foundations of the living environment and for creating pleasant urban areas and facilities.
They form one of Artelia’s particular skills, since the group can draw on national and international expertise in developing regional tourism, defining leisure activities and practices, and programming the related public or private facilities.
The wilaya of Illizi is located in south-eastern Algeria. It covers an area of 284,618 km² (12% of the country) and has a wealth of resources: natural (e.g. Tassili national park), cultural (e.g. Sebeiba festival) and historical (e.g. rock engravings, fortified castles).
Artelia oversaw the development of the 15 000 m2 of public spaces surrounding the Halle Freyssinet, the new start-up incubator in Paris. The objective was to create a “peaceful” environment, alternating paved plazas and esplanades with planted landscaped areas.
The creation of public spaces on the lower-level embankments along the left banks of the river Seine in Rouen has reconnected the city with its river and made the Seine a key component in the scheme to develop the urban area as a whole.
