Redevelopment of parking areas and accesses

Context & Issues
The Roland Garros airport authority on the island of Reunion is considering redeveloping and extending the car parks and improving the access facilities. This project forms part of the overall strategy to increase the capacity of the existing infrastructure and extend the passenger terminal to reach an annual figure of 4 million passengers by the year 2040.
Project characteristics
The objectives of the project to redevelop the “Parking and Access” facilities are as follows:
- Increase the parking capacity (350 additional spaces for passengers),
- Facilitate access for passengers, pedestrians and airport-based workers,
- Integrate the car parks more harmoniously into the landscape, to make them a "showcase" for visitors arriving on the island,
- Create a multimodal transport interchange close to the air terminal,
- Develop an economic hub.
