The objective of this study is to draw up a master plan for the development of irrigated agriculture on a national scale and involving cross-disciplinary aspects, based on an exhaustive inventory of land that can be developed (plains and lowlands) in Guinea.

Irrigation and rural development
Agriculture consumes most of the water abstracted around the world and has been the motive behind a large number of water resource development schemes. As rehabilitation is increasingly replacing the creation of new networks, Artelia is now applying its experience of networks and regulation systems to the modernisation and optimisation of existing installations.
In 2000, the FAO drafted the marshland master plan by drawing up an inventory and a classification of marshlands depending on their pedological and hydrological characteristics.
The project concerns rehabilitating Tchaloni dam (formerly known as Gbémou) and renovating the works located downstream, including concrete canals. Furthermore, the project involves creating a network of access and service tracks criss-crossing the area.
