Context & Issues

A 9.5 hectare site in Woking has been redeveloped by the Evolution Partnership (Kier Partnership Homes, Thames Valley Housing and Woking Council) to create 371 new homes.  Of these, 224 are affordable social rented housing. The scheme includes 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes, a small number of 1 and 2 bed apartments. 8 houses have also been adapted for wheelchair use. Kier constructed the properties and Thames Valley Housing will manage and maintain the social housing over the 25-year contract period.

Project characteristics

As Independent Certifier, Artelia worked closely with all three partners in the Consortium and was instrumental in ensuring the quality and compliance of the scheme through systematic checking of design, construction and commissioning of the 224 social housing units.

Darren Kennett of Kier Partnership Homes, part of the Evolution team, commended the Artelia team for its commitment and professionalism:
“The Artelia team has been exceptional in orders of business and fulfilled their duties without exception.”
