Paris Law Courts

Paris Law Courts
Context & Issues

Rising to a height of 160 m, the new Paris Law Courts represent an emblematic symbol of Greater Paris, creating a link between Paris and its suburbs, where three constituencies meet (Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis and Paris).

The building brings together under the same roof:

  • All the units of the Paris Law Courts,
  • The Police Law Courts (tribunal de police),
  • The District Courts

RFR’s assignment concerns the design of all the facades (approximately 70,000 m²) and the special engineering structures such as the panoramic lift, the solar panels fixed to the facades, the wing-walls installed in line with the facades, the entrance canopy, the poles forming an extension to the building fabric, thereby giving it more depth and character.

Project characteristics
  • 38 storeys.
  • Internal floor area: 104,100 m².
  • Number of visitors per day: more than 9,000 people.
