Redesigning the Palaiseau site
On being appointed by the Paris region water authority (SEDIF) to provide design studies and construction supervision for the redevelopment of its water supply works in Palaiseau, Artelia began building a 3D digital mock-up right from the preliminary design stage. Building Information Modelling (BIM) is an invaluable aid for this project, which combines rehabilitation and new construction (a reservoir and a pumping station) and imposes exacting standards in terms of facility safety levels, architectural treatment, landscaping, and keeping the site operational during the works
- Booster pumping station delivering drinking water to the networks referred to as “PALAI190” and “PALAI210” (two pumping units with a fixed delivery rate of 180 m3/h)
- Two water towers are balanced on the second pumping level network (referred to as “PALAI170”), with a total capacity of 6000 m3.
- A back-up pumping station comprising two motor-driven pump units (respectively 170 and 250 m3/h) to provide a back-up solution in the event of a power cut.
