Many towns and cities have expanded under pressure from population growth or industry and in difficult economic and social conditions where the urgent need to produce goods and provide sufficient housing took priority over a host of other issues. Considerable efforts are now being made to renovate run-down urban areas and regenerate industrial sites that have fallen into disuse. Artelia uses its extensive civil engineering and site remediation expertise to assist clients with their rehabilitation and redevelopment projects.
In parallel, Artelia has developed comprehensive and integrated expertise in managing urban development projects. This know-how acquired during the course of some thirty large-scale urban renovation projects, including some of the biggest in France, has made Artelia a leading partner, recognised by the project owners it works with.
This vast urban regeneration scheme (covering 738 ha) is centred around three operational sectors and involves developing a multimodal transport interchange, housing, offices and public spaces.
