Penly EPR2 Project

Low-carbon electricity

CONTEXT & ISSUES

PRINCIPIA and SPRETEC, Artelia subsidiaries, have been entrusted by EDF with the design of the liners and cofferdams for the pools of the HR and HK buildings (Nuclear Island). This contract is part of the civil engineering package for the reactors. It is being carried out in a collaborative engineering mode with multiple interfaces with other engineering and construction contracts.

The EPR2 Penly project, with a first commissioning scheduled around 2035, is part of the program to build new reactors in France. It will contribute to achieving the objectives set in terms of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and strengthening energy independence.

This recognition of Artelia Group’s expertise in metallic structures interfacing with civil engineering for nuclear pools further consolidates the know-how already acquired in the field of shielded chains.
