CONTEXT & ISSUES
As part of its uranium conversion nuclear activities, the ORANO Tricastin site has launched a modernization program for its facilities. In this context, ORANO has entrusted Artelia Industrie with two key assignments:
- Project management and design for the construction of Building 63L, which will take over the functions of the existing ST800 facility, particularly in terms of maintenance and electrolysis cell cleaning processes.
- Project management and design for bringing the ST200 AME installation into compliance with current standards.
These assignments follow the APD (Detailed Preliminary Design) and CCT (Technical Specifications) phases previously carried out by Artelia, which is now responsible for full support through to project handover.
CHALLENGES
- Working in a nuclear environment with stringent safety requirements.
- Ensuring operational continuity of the site during construction.
- Integrating an optimized design within a constrained space.
- Coordinating multiple technical disciplines within tight deadlines
To address these challenges, Artelia has mobilized a multidisciplinary team to perform the following tasks:
- Design and detailed engineering for all trades.
- Process and utility studies tailored to the site’s specific requirements.
- Mechanical and structural design studies.
- HVAC, electrical, and building systems engineering.
- Construction management.
