Kong and Serebou solar photovoltaic and BESS projects

As part of the expansion of Côte d’Ivoire’s electricity production sources — whose major objective is to improve the energy mix by 2030 by reaching 45% renewable energy in the national generation capacity — CI-ENERGIES plans to construct two “Smart PV” solar power plants of 120 MWp each, equipped with a 120 MWh energy storage system.

CONTEXT & ISSUES

These projects will be located respectively in the Serebou department (Iffou Region) and the Kong department (Tchologo Region), and will include the construction of the associated power evacuation networks.

The energy produced will be injected into the national electricity grid from the following substations:

  • 225/90/30 kV Serebou substation,
  • 225/30 kV Kong substation.
