Artelia announces the acquisition of SOPSEC

a building engineering firm in Portugal

Through the acquisition of SOPSEC, a Portuguese building engineering specialist, Artelia is strengthening its presence in the Iberian Peninsula and accelerating its development across Europe.

Founded 38 years ago, SOPSEC has more than 150 employees based in Porto and Lisbon. The company provides services spanning the design, management and supervision of construction projects, as well as consulting activities, particularly in the field of sustainability.

SOPSEC serves public- and private-sector clients on a wide range of projects in the commercial, industrial, residential, retail, hospitality, heritage and education sectors. Its teams have contributed to several landmark projects in Portugal and internationally.

This acquisition forms part of Artelia’s strategy to develop its full range of businesses in the regions where the Group operates. It will strengthen regional synergies and give SOPSEC access to a broader portfolio of projects and expertise.

For Benoît Clocheret, Artelia’s Executive Chairman, this acquisition marks “a new milestone in our European development strategy” and strengthens the Group’s ability to support clients with their transition and development projects.
