Shinyanga solar power plant and related substation
Tanzania Electric Supply Company Ltd (TANESCO) is planning to build a 150MWp solar photovoltaic power plant in Shinyanga. The project is one of the country’s priority investment projects which, once completed, will increase generation capacity, improve electricity supply and stabilise system voltage in the northern part of the national grid.

CONTEXT & ISSUES
The project will be implemented in several phases, with Phase I comprising the construction of a 50MWp solar photovoltaic power plant and associated 33/220kV substation.
The assignment involves assistance with the procurement of the EPC contractor, supervision and management of project implementation.
